When was the last time you did something you were a little uncomfortable with?
How was it? Scary? fun? exhilarating? a combination of these & more I expect.
Last night I took yoga, belly dancing & meditation workshop. The yoga was no problem, meditation, that's all good too, it was the belly dancing that was the challenge to me. Like a lot of women I struggle with body image, however I'm more accepting of my body now than I ever have been having done a lot of work (a continuing work) in this area. It was a women only class & I had met one of them before so that made it a little easier.
I bought a belly dancing waist band, complete with lots of jingling sounds. Once we were all warmed up by the yoga poses the music went on & we explored the hip movements in belly dancing. We all had a blast, it was so much fun, women dancing, exploring their bodies in motion, growing in confidence as we moved to the music.
I encourage you to try something new, maybe it's something you've always secretly wanted to try & never had the confidence. Maybe you'll love it, maybe you won't, you won't know unless you try.
